Merry Christmas Everyone!
Our Christmas celebration in the Philippines is the longest in the world. Traditionally a family affair here.
My favorite Holiday tradition is the Noche Buena ( Christmas Eve Feast), where the family dine together on Christmas Eve. We usually prepare salad, some pasta, roast pork, chicken or beef , Christmas ham and queso de bola (ball of cheese/ edam). It is also the time where I open my Christmas presents. Another of my favorite is the Family Reunion or gathering on Christmas Day. Please read Christmas In The Philippines ( Wikipedia).

How fabulous! I love reading about different traditions. Our tradition (as well as that sherry trifle) is not to have turkey (I hate it with a passion) so we're having lamb this year.
Thanks so much for visiting, Happy Pink Saturday and Merry Christmas in advance!
It's nice to meet you. Love that big tree! Merry Christmas and Happy Pink Saturday {a little late...lol} Come by if you get a chance.
Back Porch Blessings,

Happy Pink Saturday & Merry Christmas
Wishing you and yours a very Blessed Christmas!

I am one of those rare species in the Philippines who did not grow up with Philippine tradition but I can very well remember how it was because of our neighbours and friends and at school. So this post is very much a reminiscing station for me to ponder our Christmas over there. I also love the caroling part where we go house to house singing carols and go home with some money.
Childhood memory. And you look cute on the picture. Is that you? or a daughter? :)
Greetings Regina,
Happpy Christmas to you, thanks so much for visiting. You look so pretty in front of that giant tree all decked out in holiday finery!
XO

Thank you everyone!
Hello Bonnie. Yes the caroling. I love it too. I remember :). Thank you.
It is me on the photo:).
Hi Regina
My daughter's boyfriend is half Phillipino and she will be celebrating Christmas with his family this year --I will send her this link.
Merry Christmas and a very happy 2010!
Regina: Thank you so much for including the link. My husband's Italian family has a similar tradition with the exception that Christmas Eve will be the feast of the 7 fishes! I'm not sure we will have all seven since at least one is pretty icky (salty), but we will eat no meat. I love the cheese tradition and that we will have lots of on our table, too.
Thank you SO much for stopping by my blog and Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Regina. I know it must feel good to be home after being away.
I Regina, I love hearing about Christmas in the Philippeans. Your Christmas Eve celebration sounds incredible. Thanks so much for sharing.

Once again, it's Christmas -
that delightful time of year
When hearts are filled with gratitude
and homes are bright with cheer.
When everyone's remembering
good friends and loved ones too -
So naturally, the warmest thoughts
and wishes go to you.
May your home be filled
with happiness,
your hearts with love,
your days with joy -
at Christmas and always.
Merry Christmas and have a wonderful holiday,
With love,
Maria Berg, Sweden
